A quick look at the current state of franchising in the home care sector should tell you that an investment with Kare Plus could be a highly profitable, successful one. But is it a possibility?

The history of Kare Plus home care

Kare Plus was originally founded in 1989 as a scrub nurse supplier to hospitals across the UK. In 2010, the brand changed ownership and experienced some “dramatic yet innovative changes”, such as “the growth of services offered” and “the creation of a bespoke central management system” [Kare Plus]. Now, the company operates a franchise model and offers specialist nursing, non-specialist nursing, supported living services, critical care services and home care services, all regulated by the relevant bodies (such as the CQC and the CSSIW).

The Kare Plus healthcare franchise business model has been carefully designed to provide the customer with a reliable one-stop-solution. Why look at different providers if there is one company who can provide all your requirements? This approach consolidates accounts and offers the chance to widen the scope for building working relationships.

Start a franchise in the home care industry with a Kare Plus business

If everything you’ve learned thus far about Kare Plus and the history of the brand has left you increasingly keen to invest and become a caregiver, keep reading. The three questions answered below will equip you with all the information you need in order to make a fully informed investment with Kare Plus and start your own Kare Plus franchise in 2022...

1. How do you go about starting a home care business with Kare Plus?

To find out more about Kare Plus and/or register your interest in an investment, you can visit the company’s dedicated franchising website. With Kare Plus, you’ll benefit from one of the biggest advantages of running a home care franchise - the ability to thrive and succeed without any prior care industry experience. That’s right, the ideal Kare Plus franchisee doesn’t need a caregiving background. Instead, they should be passionate about delivering high-quality care, able to build strong relationships and able to follow a proven business model, with plenty of business acumen, drive to succeed and ability to manage people.

2. How much do you need to invest?

To become a Kare Plus franchisee, you’ll need to make a minimum initial investment of £32,200, with franchise fees of £29,950 and a total investment cost of £106,000. To contextualise these costs, the average cost of starting a franchise, as of 2018, was £42,200 [British Franchise Association]. Here are some other cost examples from the wide range of available home care franchise investment opportunities:

  • Acacia Homecare - To become an Acacia Homecare franchisee, you’ll need to make a minimum initial investment of £22,950, with a total investment cost of £70,000.
  • Heritage Healthcare - To become a Heritage Healthcare franchisee, you’ll need to make a minimum initial investment of £35,994, with a total investment cost of £95,994.
  • Hope Homecare - To become a Hope Homecare franchisee, you’ll need to make a minimum initial investment of £35,000, with franchise fees of £30,000 and a total investment cost of £70,000.

You’ll receive the help of a dedicated regional support manager, be assisted with business planning, set-up and guidance and gain access to all of Kare Plus’s systems (homecare management and roster software, CRM, document management, recruitment, digital mapping). From advice on winning clients and contracts to tailored brand guidelines, the assistance and help provided by Kare Plus never ends.
