Bagel Corner has been taking the time to reflect on its successes and achievements in 2018 as it heads into yet another year of business. 2018 marked four years of franchising for the exciting brand and saw it reap the benefits of an ambitious fundraising campaign that began in November.
Gregory Clement, one of the three founding partners of the business, explained why the fundraising was so important to the continuing development and success of Bagel Corner.
“The objective of this new fundraising is to finance the creation of a training centre, new units of its own, the structuring of France teams and export development. We had several offers of financial partners, but we preferred to move forward with the investors who trusted us from the start "
The ambitious franchise, which is currently seeking experienced and driven people to operate its master franchise license in new countries and territories, branched out beyond its homeland of France this year. Master franchisee Marc Hostyn took the restaurant concept to the people of Belgium and said that he plans to open more than 30 units in Belgium and Luxembourg over the coming years, adding to the two units currently open in Liege and outside the European Parliament buildings in Brussels.
Bagel Corner now has its sights set on countries including the UK and hopes to bring its take on the classic American sandwich to customers all over the world. Its targets are ambitious, as it’s aiming to have opened 100 restaurants by 2022 and to have expanded to other countries including the Netherlands, Denmark, Sweden and Norway, putting it firmly in poll position in the European bagel market.
