About Rooster Shack
Franchise

ROOSTER SHACK IS A SYSTEMATIC AND BRANDED APPROACH TO TRADITIONAL CHICKEN SHOPS

Rooster Shack is a unique and independent quick-service food brand serving freshly made piri piri and house grilled chicken, wings, wraps, rice boxes, burgers and shakes.

It positions itself as a cooler and more professional alternative to existing chicken fast-food and it features a systemised operation minimising labour and skill requirements.

Rooster Shack has won the Good Food Award for Takeaways 2020.

Rooster Shack has also a strong track-record of supporting franchisees in getting the best return on their investment via outstanding operational support, training, deals with approved vendors and strong marketing activity to drive sales.

FOR EVERYONE, EVERY-TIME, EVERYWHERE

Rooster Shack caters to an audience of young families, students and office workers for lunch, dinner and in-between snacking. Its menu includes halal, vegetarian and vegan options to suit every dietary requirement and lifestyle.

Its product range and packaging are ideal to eat in or to consume on the go or have delivered, allowing the franchise business to benefit from multiple revenue streams.

It is proven to trade successfully from as little as 500 square feet locations. As a result, rent % in Rooster Shack is usually in single digits.

It is ideally suited to suburban secondary shopping parades with a middle-class residential population and presence of students and office workers in the vicinity.

EXPERIENCE IN RUNNING A BUSINESS

We are looking for people that have experience in running their own business within and outside the catering industry.

They should be prepared to start as owner-operators in their first Rooster Shack restaurant, until it becomes established. We are also looking for individuals with a long-term plan, ambition and appetite to grow the business to multi-site, seizing opportunities to scale in adjacent markets, with Rooster Shack’s support.

COMMITTED AND HARD-WORKING

The ideal candidate should also be committed, hard-working, commercial and with good people skills, thus able to lead by example and motivate his or her team.

As any business, a Rooster Shack franchise will require full commitment from the start and relentless focus on delivering outstanding service day in day out, keeping costs within budget and carrying out marketing activities to grow sales and retention.

A positive attitude and the will to learn the Rooster Shack business inside out and succeed in the F&B market are essential.

Rooster Shack's history

SUCCESSFUL FAMILY BUSINESS

Rooster Shack is the brainchild of the Mamud family. Imran and his father opened the first location in Woking, Surrey, in 2016 in a secondary, isolated site just outside a retail park. In spite of the off-pitch location, in the space of few months the restaurant, which measures just over 500 sq ft, had become a local hero, outranking any other direct competition in Woking on customer reviews websites and drawing customers from all parts of town and even from London thanks to its flavoursome food and hospitality.

In 2019 Rooster Shack went through an operational review and a rebrand in partnership with experienced foodservice professionals, which culminated with the winning of the Good Food Award for Takeways. Working with franchise experts, Rooster Shack has fine-tuned its franchise proposition, creating a support and training infrastructure centred on the franchisee’s success.

SPECTACULAR RETURN ON INVESTMENT

2019 has also seen Rooster Shack opening its first franchise store, in Aldershot. The store share some of its features with the Woking store, in that is it located in a secondary retail parade adjacent to a new residential area. The store is on track to deliver a spectacular return on investment. Having achieved proof of concept and franchise track-record and having grown its organisation to cover all key functions, Rooster Shack is now set up to roll out its successful proposition throughout the UK.
