Water Babies treats its franchisees as family and as such will be given full support. Upon acceptance, the successful franchisee will undergo 300 hours of baby swimming teacher training programme both in and out of the pool. Upon completion of this training, they will obtain a nationally recognized diploma in baby swimming. We will also provide administrative and business training. Next, the new franchisee will also be taught how to scout for suitable local pools and then how to market their baby swimming franchise. Aside from business support from Head Office, the new franchise partner can also count on the support of the rest of the network.

Potential franchisees will undergo a rigorous 6-step selection process. There are two ways to acquire a Water Babies franchise-- purchase an empty territory or take over a current franchise. The ideal candidate we are looking for should have a strong motivation to teach babies and toddlers to swim. Potential franchisees need to have initiative and self-motivation to succeed as a franchisee. To start the ball rolling, a minimum personal investment of ₤5,000 and a total investment of ₤25,000 will be required, VAT and working capital is not yet included in the total cost.

Water Babies was established by Paul Thompson in 2002. He drew inspiration from his experience of taking his daughter Imani and son Jai to learn how to swim. Today, Water Babies have 57 franchises running, 64 stores in UK, Ireland, the Netherlands, Canada, New Zealand, and China. Germany is set to launch this year.
