Nicholas Humphreys is the only franchise in the UK that specialises in Student Lettings alongside traditional residential estate and lettings. We are one of only five franchises in the estate and letting agency sector that has achieved full accreditation from the British Franchise Association.

Full support is provided at all stages of your franchise journey including full training and a dedicated launch support mentor who will be in the territory with you and remotely supporting for a 3 month period so previous experience in this industry is not necessary as over 80% of our franchisees do not have a background in property.

Training and support provided

Our training is all provided as part of your initial franchise fee. It consists of 4 weeks of in branch practical experience and classroom based training at our Franchise Head Office. We provide in-field launch support for 3 days a week for the first month of launching and a dedicated launch support manager for 2 days a week for the second month proven to get our franchisees businesses off to a good start.

Thereafter, we provide monthly one-to-one support and development days, dedicated to our franchisees and their business. Alongside this, we also provide monthly group support training, networking and support days and conference calls.

I took a Nicholas Humphreys franchise to move away from the corporate sector into a steady industry to make a decent income to support a family. Having made an income of £309,696.67 net of VAT so far and I am 2 months from my 3 year trading point, my dream is becoming a reality. - Rob Butters, Stoke-on-Trent

The initial franchise fee investment for a territory of over 50,000 homes is £18,500 + VAT and as a business we do not make a profit from this fee. You will also need to demonstrate evidence of 6 months working capital at approximately £1500 (£9000 in total). Banks can lend up to 70% of the cost depending on your personal financial history.

Nicholas Humphreys franchise awards

With the cyclical nature of the student lettings business coupled with residual management income and additional sales income this opportunity provides a lucrative choice of property franchise. The potential income in the student lettings sector is up to 2.5 times that of traditional estate agency, providing our franchisees with a secure cash flow and access to an industry that has a large amount of repeat business with increasing year on year fee income.

Previous experience in the property sector is not essential as we provide a heavily supported 3 month training and launch period for our cold-start franchisees. This includes a 4 week intense practical training program with ARLA qualified trainers and a 2 month launch support period with a launch support mentor who will be in your territory with you for the first month of your launch.

Nicholas Humphreys Franchise Case Study RobI took a Nicholas Humphreys franchise to move away from the corporate sector into a steady industry to make a decent income to support a family. Having made an income of £309,696.67 net of VAT so far and I am 2 months from my 3 year trading point, my dream is becoming a reality.  - Rob Butters, Stoke-on-Trent

Nicholas Humphreys Franchise Case Study OliverI received 4 weeks of intensive training in house and within branches in the midlands. I then received 8 weeks of launch support, with a team of franchise staff working hard to help you achieve your goal. In my first 3 years I earnt an income of £337,471.48 net of VAT and I won best newcomer at the Franchisee Awards in 2016. Oliver Barker, Hatfield Hertfordshire

Nicholas Humphreys Franchise Case Study NicholasI chose Nicholas Humphreys over other franchises because the franchise fee is reinvested in me and my business, with a strong support network for now and into the future. My advice would be to put your faith in those within the franchise who support you. With this advice I have earnt over £76,500 net of VAT and I have been running for 18 months. This is a great opportunity. - Nicholas Lambrou, Sheffield

Previously, I studied Psychology at University and then worked as a medical records assistant. I have a lot more freedom now as a Director of a franchise to fit in my social life around work but there is a lot of hard work involved in the running of the franchise. My previous job was very dull and structured; running our franchise is very challenging and flexible. We have earnt an income of over £245,000 over 3.5 years, achieved over 300 lets and won Best Newcomer in 2015 - Becca Henderson, Durham

Nicholas Humphreys Franchise Case Study Dan In my first year with my first franchise I had an income of £79,058, an increase of 88% up to £148,636 in my second year and after 6 years this franchise has now turned over nearly £1.5 million net of VAT with 9 members of staff and a high street premise, I have subsequently taken three further territories. - Dan Strain, Nottingham
