Point Franchise webinar 2021

Thinking about becoming a franchisee? Find out more by joining our free webinar on Friday 5th March, where we’ll be speaking to some of the UK franchise industry’s most exciting professionals.

Many lives have been turned upside down over the last 12 months. But as the saying goes, when one door closes another one opens. If you’re stuck in a professional no-man’s-land after a redundancy or feel you’re ready for a new career challenge, now could be the perfect time to start a franchise.

While many sectors and independent businesses have been battered by ongoing restrictions, our resourceful and adaptable franchisors and franchisees have continued to prosper. We’re lucky enough to chat to many of them regularly, and we’ve been so inspired and encouraged by their ongoing resilience and success.

Want to find out more about why you should invest in a franchise now? Here’s a sneak peek into what you can expect from our insightful webinar.

Expert insight

This webinar, which is the first installment in our ‘Franchise Forward’ thought leadership series, will give potential franchisees the chance to learn more from some of the industry’s experienced professionals.

The session will be moderated by Shayne Thomas, who heads up the Point Franchise editorial team. He’ll be joined by Imran Mamud, Managing Director of fast food franchise Rooster Shack, and Matteo Frigeri, Founder and Managing Director of franchise development agency Seeds Consulting.

The two business people have plenty of experience within the food industry from very different perspectives, making their insight an invaluable resource to any potential franchisee looking to make a career move into this sector. Let’s find out a little more about our two experts.

A leading franchise developer

With 15 years’ experience in the restaurant and food franchising business under his belt, Matteo Frigeri is one of the industry’s most trusted names. He set up Seeds Consulting, a food franchise development agency, in 2009 with associate David Liveing, a franchise professional with more than three decades of experience. Now, they help franchises find the perfect franchise partners and sites to expand across the UK.

Matteo and the team have spearheaded the development of international restaurant businesses in the UK and helped to promote others across the US and EMEA markets. They’ve helped up-and-coming brands, including Flower Burger, the Avocado Show, and Pitaya find their feet in new territories by offering their guidance with partner selection and operational queries. The duo also have experience assisting established franchising giants, including the Casual Dining Group, SSP and Lavazza. We can’t wait to pick Matteo’s brains about all things franchising.

A passionate food franchise founder

Founder of Rooster Shack Imran Mamud explains that his passion for excellent food was sparked at an early age:

“I’d spend time in the kitchen cooking different dishes with my mum and throughout my time at university, I had a number of part-time jobs within the restaurant industry. These experiences taught me a lot about myself, and I knew that, one day, I would have my own food brand.”

After spending a period of time working in the food manufacturing business, Imran’s desire to set up his own outlet only grew stronger.

“By 2013, I knew that my only passion was to own my own food outlet. I wanted to create a menu that would use the finest ingredients, offer home-cooked-style food via a quick service concept, and appeal to all age groups.”

And so, Rooster Shack was born—a quick-service restaurant and takeaway offering delicious piri piri chicken. After spending three years refining the concept, brand and menu, Imran opened the first Rooster Shack store in 2016 in his hometown of Woking. It was an immediate, award-winning success scooping accolades including the BBC Good Food Award—and others quickly wanted to know how to replicate the business.

“Due to our popularity, I was approached by a customer who wanted to open his own Rooster Shack, and we opened our first franchised store in 2019. This store has exceeded our expectations and is continuing to outperform its set targets.”

Imran calls Rooster Shack “the entry ticket to franchise success in the restaurant industry of 2021.” We’re looking forward to hearing more about his experience.
