About Wagging Tails
Franchise
A Haven for Dogs
Wagging Tails is one of the leading home dog boarding services providers in the UK. At Wagging Tails we believe dogs deserve a holiday too, which means ensuring we match dogs with a carefully selected, licensed Wagging Tails carer for that perfect home from home holiday!
Why Join Us
Wagging Tails have huge demand from dog owners across the UK for their exclusive holiday service and they are looking for dog lovers to join their team and bring this service to the Nation’s dogs.
Wagging Tails is a proud member of two prestigious organisations; namely, the British Franchise Organisation (BFA) of which they are Full Members and Encouraging Women into Franchising (EWIF). This means that they have to adhere to high standards of franchising and ethics and have had to prove the success of franchisees including the levels of earnings achievable.
Wagging Tails boast not only an excellent home dog boarding service, as can be seen by the reviews from happy owners, but also an exceptional business model as well. They have won two consecutive ‘Franchisee of the Year’ awards at the EWIF Awards in addition to boasting a ‘New Franchisee of the Year’ winner demonstrating the success and quality of their franchisees and how quickly Wagging Tails franchisees can be successful. They have won the ‘Franchise Marketing Awards’ for Best Marketing Support to franchisees (and have subsequently been shortlisted for this award again) and finalist for ‘Best Website’, were finalists for the “Best Pet Service Business”, they won the ‘Theo Paphitis #SBS Award’ and were finalist’s in the 2017 Best Franchise Awards Business to Consumer category. Founder and Franchisor Lisa Suswain also won EWIF’s ‘Franchisor of the Year’ award cementing the company’s success in franchising being the only pet care company to hold such accolades.
Investment
We have structured our pricing in order to make joining our network more accessible and reward high achieving franchisees. The initial investment required for a new franchise is just £7,995.00 + VAT with the remaining £5,000.00 + VAT paid over the first four years of the franchise operation.
Even better news for high achieving franchisees is that the final two payments will be waived for those franchisees achieving agreed and achievable targets, illustrating our commitment to finding motivated and successful franchisees to join our network.
The initial investment to launch a new franchise is just £7,995.00 + VAT with the remain £5,000.00 paid on the following schedule:
- Initial investment of £7,995.00 + VAT
- End of year 1: £1,000.00 + VAT
- End of year 2: £2,000.00 + VAT
- End of year 3: £1,000.00 + VAT*
- End of year 4: £1,000.00 + VAT*
*For high achieving franchisees who reach agreed, realistic goals (based on levels achieved by previous franchisees) payments due at the end of Years 3 and 4 will be waived, potentially reducing the franchise cost by £2,000.00 + VAT."
Training and support provided
Wagging Tails believe in ensuring their franchisees are the most supported and successful in the UK. This is why as a new franchisee you will be trained using a comprehensive training programme encompassing topics such as carer recruitment, taking bookings, using Wagging Tails bespoke systems and marketing, to name just a few. The initial training is for 1 day at your location followed by 3 days at Head Office and then a day with an existing franchisee. You will also attend a Canine First Aid Course and complete an ADTB Dog Behaviour Diploma course. In addition, Wagging Tails provide ongoing support ensuring the long term success of your franchise and you benefit from sharing best practice and having the support of their network of successful franchisees.
The ideal Wagging Tails franchisee
As Wagging Tails is a home dog boarding business, any potential franchisee needs to be a dog lover and dog owner. First class customer service is paramount and an enjoyment of dealing with others, both in terms of managing your own team of Dog Carers and engaging with Dog Owners is vital. Wagging Tails became a franchise due to the demand of owners from across the UK and overseas so they are looking for highly motivated individuals who have a drive to succeed and meet this demand. Wagging Tails franchisees truly make a difference to the lives of both owners and their dogs and they are looking for more franchisees to make a difference in their local area.
As this is a home-based business, you need not find a location for the franchise other than your own home.
Wagging Tails' history
Lisa Suswain launched Wagging Tails dog boarding in Surrey in 2007. Owners loved the concept of exclusive home boarding as an alternative to kennels so much that the business was soon taking bookings a year in advance. When owners were travelling from Scotland down to Surrey and even from Spain across to the UK to board their dogs Lisa knew she had to find a way to meet this ever growing demand. In 2009, Lisa worked closely with a BFA Franchise Consultant and took on her first franchisee in 2010. Wagging Tails is the only exclusive home dog boarding company where owners get to meet their dog’s carer that have shown consistent earning in their franchisees and have proven the success of the franchise and been awarded Full BFA Member status.
Today the franchise covers 20 outlets across the country with more planned franchises on the way
