Inleaf has described how it added greenery to a new office building due to open later in 2021.

The city centre office belongs to Hana, a flexible workspace provider with sites across the world. It’s part of the Windmill Green complex, the first BREEAM (Building Research Establishment Environmental Assessment Method) Outstanding building in the city.

Located in Manchester, the office is one of just two Hana locations outside of London and the US. With a three-floor footprint, it offers open-plan offices, focus rooms, phone booths and communal work and kitchen areas.

The property’s representatives got in touch with Inleaf, a B2B franchise specialising in plant design, to create an installation and add a touch of greenery to the office. They wanted to develop a concept to tie in with the company’s other sites.

Inleaf, said,

“Being fully aware of the health benefits of living plants in the workplace, the client knew that such a substantial installation would not only create a calm, green space, but also improve the indoor air quality.”

Inleaf created a plan for the office’s communal areas. Its team of installation professionals placed large planters in the reception area and added an artificial display to the kitchen island, so leaves don’t fall into food and drinks.

The design included Monsteras, Dracaenas, Algaonemas and small epipremnums to match the plants used in Hana’s other international workspaces. The installation team also used free-standing plants such as Ficus Lyratas, Schleffleras and palms to add height and texture to the design.

Inleaf added,

“With extensive coverage throughout the building, the plants have become an intrinsic part of the furniture and décor, alongside the larger floor standing displays.”

Thanks to Inleaf’s careful planning and hard work, Hana is happy with its new office design and can’t wait to start welcoming customers later in the year.
