Ever wanted to summon pretzels just by reclining your chair? Well, Auntie Anne’s has created a product that could be your dream come true.
The ‘Recline-To-Dine’ chair can connect to the takeaway franchise’s mobile ordering app. When the recliner’s lever is pulled, it’s detected by the chair’s motion sensors, prompting the chair to make an order on its user’s behalf. After contacting the closest restaurant, all you’ll need to do is wander down and pick up your treats before tucking in.
Even if you don’t fancy getting your hands on a new recliner, you can use Auntie Anne’s new ‘Pretzel Perks’ app to quickly and easily order a treat or two. Sadly, mobile ordering is only available in the US right now, but it’s sure to make its way across the pond soon.
Heather Neary, President of Auntie Anne’s, revealed what prompted the franchise to launch this fun new product.
"Over the last several months, we heard from our fans that they missed Auntie Anne's. As we launched our new contactless mobile ordering and pickup options, we wanted to truly celebrate by developing a fun and unique way for fans to fulfil their pretzel cravings. So, we got creative and developed a pretzel-lovers dream recliner.
“A few fans were lucky enough to try it out and we received rave reviews! But more importantly, even without this super cool chair, anyone with a smartphone can now order freshly baked pretzels for contactless delivery, curbside pickup, or in-store pickup."
Auntie Anne’s is also running a competition – the “Recline-To-Dine Sweepstakes”. The lucky winner will bag free pretzels for a year, their very own dream recliner, a year’s subscription to their favourite streaming service and a care package with a blanket, socks and comfy pillow.
