9Round’s Charlottesville location in Virginia is getting ready to help customers achieve their New Year goals during the Covid-19 crisis.
The gym franchise business’s owners, Ross and Sherie Flores have looked back on the measures they’ve put in place throughout the pandemic. Adapting their usual practice of delivering half-hour high-intensity kickboxing workout sessions, the pair have restricted the number of visitors allowed inside to five at a time. Each time someone leaves, the staff deep clean their equipment and another person is able to enter.
Sherie said,
"We clean everything [customers] touch after they touch it, so any kind of dumbbell or kettlebell, there's cleaning between each person. We are wiping down the bags that people are kicking and punching as well."
The franchise branch was forced to close in May and June, but managed to keep its premises free from the virus throughout 2020. Ross explained,
"Over 7,000 workouts delivered to our members with no incidents. That, I think, is a testament to the adherence to the procedures and policies we put in place to make sure that we are providing a safe environment."
The pair understand the importance of exercise for people during times of crisis. Ross added,
"We've made it our mission to make people physically stronger, mentally stronger, and emotionally stronger. I think we've seen over the course of Covid-19 especially the importance of health, just dealing with stress."
But if customers don’t want to venture out to the gym, they can still achieve their New Year’s resolutions by taking part in its online Zoom sessions instead.
