Who we are

The Late Birthday Project (LBP) is a ground breaking & successful football academy that counters the significant impact of the Relative Age Effect in youth football, by offering coaching & opportunities to children born later in the academic year. With already more than 10 centres in the South of England, LBP is now offering franchise opportunities across the UK for its proven and profitable business model.

The Late Birthday Project, established in 2016, has quickly become a leading local provider of football programmes in the Sussex and Surrey areas of the UK. Children born between the months of January and August benefit from a bespoke curriculum and high-quality training, all in safe, positive, pressure-free environment.

Earning potential

Owning your own LBP franchise allows you the flexibility of either part time of full-time opportunities within your chosen territory. With excellent earning potentials of anything from £48k per annum running just one centre each week, up to £125k per annum running 5, the choice is yours.

The model

The Late Birthday Project wants to ensure you achieve the most from your franchise, and so has developed the most complete training and support package for its franchise network.

Owning a franchise means that all the groundwork of launching a new brand has already been done. LBP has a proven and profitable business model which has been tried and tested successfully across Sussex and Surrey.

Why franchise?

Launching your own business can be a daunting prospect, but from the moment you are on board, LBP will give you the training and support you need to launch your own successful centres in your own territory.

If you have no prior experience owning a business, our comprehensive training will help you develop and acquire the skills needed to run your own successful and profitable franchise. The LBP training package is a 4-5 day intensive training course, based at its centres in Dorking, providing both practical and business training to help get your franchise off to the best start.

LBP are looking to expand their franchise network across the UK and are looking for ambitious driven people to help grow the brand on a national level.

Is it for me?

We are looking for business minded individuals who want to build a part-time or full-time football coaching business. You can work your LBP business around your existing work and family life, and phase yourself out of any other commitments as the business becomes more successful

Experience coaching children is important, and you can use your skills to either directly coach or manage coaches to deliver the LBP programme. You’ll have a strong understanding of football and age development issues. At LBP we coach high quality sessions for children born later in the school year. Talking to parents and delivering great sessions based around this concept is how we’ve made our name.

You’ll be knowledgeable about your local area so that you can set up and market your LBP business in the best way for your local community. Being a skilled communicator and leader is important and key to maintaining strong relationships with often very busy parents who will want to ensure the safety and wellbeing of their children as well as their advancement in football in a fun, pressure-free learning environment. Ideally you’ll be located within your territory: you’ll need to get around your area easily so, while individuals outside their territory will be considered, it’s beneficial to run your LBP business locally.

Late Birthday Project's history

LBP was launched in 2016 by Richard King, a successful entrepreneur who has founded, grown and sold a number of successful businesses in sport and other sectors. From the launch of its first centre in Dorking in 2016, LBP has quickly grown to 10 centres across Surrey & Sussex and now provides high-quality, innovative coaching for over 500 players a week.
