Swimming franchise Swimtime is using AI to keep customers safe during the COVID-19 crisis.
The COVID-19 pandemic has presented lots of challenges for businesses in the UK and across the globe. As children’s franchise Swimtime prepares to reopen its doors to the public, it has launched an Artificial Intelligence (AI) contactless access system called MyPass.
So, how does this innovative technology work and help keep the public safe? Well, MyPass uses AI to allow students and their parents to enter the swimming venue just 15 minutes before their lesson starts.
They can show the large, colour-coded access pass on their phone to the venue staff, so they can check whether they should be on the site at that time. This is important to make sure there is no congestion and social distancing measures can be adhered to.
The system works in real time and references the exact swimming sessions the students are registered in. Its state-of-the-art security features mean it can operate on any mobile device, so there is no need to download an app.
Because of the clear design of the system, staff are able to review the pass at a safe two-metre distance. Then, when the lesson has finished, MyPass automatically revokes. This then informs staff if there are still individuals present at the venue who should have left.
Rachel Brooks, Operations Director of Swimtime commented:
“Like many businesses, COVID-19 has presented a real challenge for our network of family-run businesses. The joy of being a Swimtime franchisee is we can challenge our partners to innovate with us to support our network and get back on their feet quickly and safely. MyPass is a great example of the benefits we can deliver as a brand.”
