Pirtek is upping its game this year with a new ISO 9001 certification.
Hose parts provider, Pirtek, is getting a big upgrade in 2018. It will see the organisation reaching high ISO standards with an ISO 9001 certification.
ISO – the International Organization for Standardization – is a standard for quality and regulatory compliance. Any company that holds a certificate is sure to meet the high standards for management responsibilities, proper documentation, analysis, resource management and work environment. The 9001 certification also includes standards on product delivery, including design.
ISO sums up its methodology as ‘plan-do-check-act’, and all companies with a certificate must follow this procedure in all of their processes.
Pirtek will hold the certificate for a year, when the company will have to be reassessed to ensure it still meets the criteria.
Dan Perry, president and COO of Pirtek explains why the franchise has pushed towards this new standard. He says, “one of the clear benefits of working toward this standard is that it presents us with an attainable goal and it creates a quality awareness among our team members”.
Pirtek is also set to expand its base this year, by moving into a new 140,000 sq ft headquarters in the middle of the year. It is five times larger than the current location and will include a national warehouse and office space.
Selling and providing hoses, hose parts and maintenance services, Pirtek has over 18,000 items in its line. This leading hose business can also create bespoke products to suit various requirements and machinery.
Pirtek has 75 franchises in the US alone, and more than 400 around the world, operating in 23 countries. It supports businesses in a variety of industries, including agricultural, automotive, construction, environmental services, manufacturing, marine, offshore, mining, quarrying, transport logistics and utilities.
