The home care focused offshoot of Kare Plus was delighted to welcome Uzma after she was head-hunted not only by Homecare by Kare Plus, but by three other companies in the industry, too.
Uzma chose an opportunity with Homecare by Kare Plus because she was completely confident that she’d be able to deliver excellent care through the home care franchise. She’s spent the majority of her life putting other people first and caring for others, working her way up through the industry in the process. In her time, Uzma has been a Care Coordinator, a Complex Care Manager and a Registered Care Manager. Her meticulous approach was even noticed by the CQC (Care Quality Commission).
“I always thought I’d be working in a bank because most of my work experience at school was aimed at that,” Uzma says, “but then I studied Health And Social Care in the Sixth-Form. I did work experience with a supported-living service in Bradford, helping people with learning disabilities, and that changed the course of my life. At first, I thought to myself ‘What have I done?’ as I was only 17 and didn’t know much about learning disabilities. But I was having a chat and a laugh with them and helping them get jobs and go out and have a social life, and I enjoyed it so much that I ended up working for that company for five years. I’ve been in the care sector ever since.”
Uzma is passionate about the provision of quality care “and the change it can make to individual people’s lives”. She’s always willing to go the extra mile when her customers need her. This is part of the reason that she chose Homecare by Kare Plus, despite being headhunted by three other companies. Homecare seemed as dedicated as her.
