The Hedge End branch of the printing franchise (which is the world’s largest and top rated) was recently purchased by Duncan when the previous owner chose to sell.

Duncan is delighted to join the Minuteman Press team, and he recently sat down with the printing franchise for an interview and a chat about everything that’s happened since he decided to purchase Minuteman Press Hedge End back in August 2021. This is part one of two sharing insights revealed in this interview.

Duncan began by sharing what he’d been up to prior to his purchase, saying, “I am an ex-helicopter engineer who served in the British Army for ten years. In 2007, I set up my own equipment supplies business. In 2018 and 2019, we bought two stationery businesses and a wholesale paper supplies business. We were actually supplying goods to the Minuteman Press franchise in Hedge End, and when they went up for sale we decided this was a great opportunity to tie everything together and help meet our customers’ needs in every area.”

When asked why Duncan chose to go down the franchising route - and why he chose Minuteman Press - he explained that he’d had “very positive experiences with Minuteman Press as a customer and as a supplier” so knew he was in good hands. Plus, he said that he loves “the physical location of [the] business”, as he’s now able to walk to work every day.

Duncan self-financed the purchase of Minuteman Press Hedge End, and he’s been absorbing all the training and support provision since August. He’s learned about not just operations and business management, but “the direct promotion and marketing side of the business”, which he feels has been extremely worthwhile and useful, and he also described the ongoing support he’s received locally as “a great resource”.

He believes that Minuteman Press is different from the rest because the franchise is “uniquely able to print on letterheads, flyers, promotional products, outside [clients’] buildings, on their vehicle wraps”, etc. If you’d like to find out more about Duncan’s journey with the printing franchise, keep checking Point Franchise!
