Minuteman Press franchisees in Pennsylvania have celebrated winning Small Business of the Year in the Beaver County Chamber of Commerce’s award scheme.
Karl and Nancy Chapple, who have run their Minuteman Press branch on 7th Avenue in Beaver Falls since 2007, were able to keep operating last year as an essential business. They expanded their offering to sell products related to the pandemic, such as signage to encourage social distancing.
Despite the effects of the Covid-19 crisis, Karl stayed positive. He has over a decade of leadership experience, and reassured other local business owners, saying,
“The pandemic will not last forever, but many businesses will see a lasting paradigm shift. It will be important to understand what things need to change and what things need to stay the same. Be careful to avoid ‘throwing the baby out with the bathwater’ as you chart your course forward.”
Thanks to Karl and Nancy’s dedication to supporting others, their printing franchise unit caught the attention of the local Chamber of Commerce. The organisation looks out for those who make “exceptional contributions as business people and community leaders”.
The Chamber’s award winners work “well beyond their own self-interests, in collaboration with others in the community, to improve the quality of place and lives of all residents in [their] region.”
The franchise’s Mid-Atlantic and Pittsburgh Regional Vice President, Bob Heimbuch, also commended the pair’s dedication to enriching their local area. He said,
“I’d like to congratulate Karl and Nancy Chapple for winning Small Business of the Year for all of the fantastic work they do for their clients and in their community. Minuteman Press Beaver Falls is a real asset to both its local community as well as the Minuteman Press franchise family.”
Karl was glad to see their hard work had been recognised.
“Winning Small Business of the Year is a great honour. It is a confirmation that we are fulfilling our promise to provide an awesome customer experience.”
