Ableworld offers a wide range of disability and mobility aids both in store and online that can make life easier for the elderly and vulnerable. Its staff are trained to offer friendly, genuinely helpful advice to customers and the Nantwich based franchise prides itself on its ethical practices that shun the forceful selling methods of other mobility retailers. Ableworld also prioritises the safety of its customers, insisting on in-store assessments prior to the purchases of certain items such as mobility scooters to make sure each customer can safely operate their machine to stop them coming to any harm.
Ableworld was founded in 2000, after Managing Director Mike Williams had a difficult experience shopping for mobility aids for an elderly relative. He realised that many retailers in the mobility trade employed target driven sales people who would forcefully sell to the elderly and vulnerable just to meet their quotas and became determined to offer an alternative that people could trust.
So, after three years of intensive research to ensure the business was the best it could be, Williams opened the first store in Nantwich. Ableworld currently has more than 30 company owned and franchised stores across the UK and is continuing to expand to even more locations every single year.
New franchisees will receive plenty of training at the start of their franchising journey, including seven weeks spent at Ableworld’s Head Office, in the environment of their own store and at key suppliers to learn the ropes. No previous experience in the mobility industry is necessary, as Ableworld is more interested in finding ambitious business people who have the drive, determination and skills to succeed. As the mobility industry is one of the fastest growing sectors in today’s retail market, franchisees will enter a lucrative sector that only has the potential to become more profitable in the future.
