SPAR started in 1932 in the South Holland Town of Zegwaart, when Adriaan van Well, a Dutch wholesaler opened his first SPAR store. By 1947, he expanded his retail store to Belgium which started its international distinction. SPAR's growth shows no signs of stopping as now we are present in all the continents except North America.
