The domestic cleaning franchise’s Sheffield location has successfully weathered the worst of COVID-19 and come out on the other side stronger than ever in the latter half of 2021.
Poppies Sheffield was first launched 26 years ago by Nigel Bayliss, and the domestic cleaning franchise just continues to thrive. In 2020-2021, Poppies experienced revenue growth of 160% compared to the same period in 2019-2020. In the words of Poppies, “Nigel has not only retained the majority of his original team during the lockdowns, but he has increased his workforce by 14% since the end of [the 2021] lockdown, enabling them to deliver over 480 home cleans every month to 180 clients in and around South Yorkshire.”
Nigel Bayliss spoke on the huge success of his Poppies business post-COVID and explained, “We’ve experienced an unprecedented demand for our professional cleaning services both during and post pandemic. [...] As people continue to work from home, the need for a reliable and managed cleaning service has never been so important. Whether it’s for a regular or one-off spring clean, we have continued to help busy professionals and parents focus on their work and spend time with their loved ones without having to worry about the cleaning and laundry.”
Plus, Nigel revealed, “We also saw a huge increase in bookings as people chose to move home during the stamp duty holiday and needed our deep clean service! Our clients trust us to look after their homes and in return we give them a premium service they deserve.” Nigel is very proud of what Poppies Sheffield has achieved and continues to achieve, and is optimistic about the future heading into 2022.
He concluded his comments by saying, “With the implementation of our new cleaning initiatives and enhanced digital marketing strategy, we’ve seen a surge in demand for both new and existing customers and we aim to continue to grow over the coming months and into next year and beyond.” Find out more about franchising with Poppies and starting your own successful business like Nigel’s via the company’s profile page, linked above.
