Popcat’s Music Time’s original franchisee extends her franchise agreement thanks to the success of business.

Popcat’s Music Time has been celebrating the extension of a happy partnership with its first ever franchisee. Jemma Durston, who leads classes across the Hoylake, West Kirby and Heswall area, was the first franchisee that Popcat’s welcomed and her experience has been such a positive one that she has just re-signed her franchisee agreement for at least another three years.

Popcat’s Music Time was set up in 2014 by founder Catherine Williams, who wanted to offer a new way for children to learn through music and play. Her background as a qualified and experienced primary school teacher gave Williams insight into how much children enjoy learning through play and creativity. After three years of hard work, she launched her exciting pre-school classes that would allow more children to experience the joy of learning through music.

Jemma brought her two children along to a Popcat’s class a few years ago and found that both enjoyed the sessions tremendously. The more classes she attended, the more Jemma wanted to know about the potential the children’s franchise had as a business opportunity. Her background as a professional actor and former teacher meant that she was the ideal candidate to run her own Popcat’s classes and Jemma was welcomed aboard.

Unlike many franchises, Popcat’s Music Time charges no additional fee if a franchisee decides to re-sign their franchise agreement, maximising their potential for ongoing profit. Popcat’s also offers classes to care homes across the country, specialising in classes for individuals with dementia. Its fun and inclusive sessions use the positive effect of music to lift the spirits of elderly people who may not otherwise be able to communicate. The franchise now has seven locations and is looking to expand its fantastic classes all across the country.
