An Ovenclean franchisee is passing on his successful business to his dedicated employee.

Ovenclean franchisee John Dyer has spent the last 14 years building up his incredibly successful territories and has now decided that its time to hang up his tools. And who better to pass his business onto than his dedicated employee Richard, who will take over one of his two thriving branches.

In 2004, John decided that he wanted to take on a fresh challenge after spending more than 20 years in a senior logistics role. He looked into various franchises but quickly decided that Ovenclean was the right opportunity for him.

I was confident I could easily do the work, and the fact that the service is a great customer pleaser with a nice repeat business model was the icing on the cake. I get to meet so many interesting people. I even have a few customers from the music industry and a very famous chef lives in my area, so no day is ever the same as there are always new people to meet.

Richard joined the team of the oven cleaning franchise around a year and a half ago, after growing tired of the engineering sector. He came onboard to help John develop and run his second territory and found the work incredibly enjoyable from the moment he joined the business.

Ive worked in engineering my whole life and simply wasnt enjoying it anymore. When the opportunity to join John came along, I jumped. It is totally different to anything Ive done in the past, but I love it.

Richard added that interacting with the customer base that John has worked so hard to build up is an unexpectedly enjoyable part of the job.

I dont want to blow my own trumpet, but customers are always delighted with the results I can achieve using the Ovenclean system. In fact, the best part about it is the customer satisfaction! Ive never had a customer-facing role before and rarely even got any recognition for my work, but now I get to put a smile on customers faces everyday you cant beat it.

John is still seeking someone to take over his second territory, which covers a large area from Norwich to Stowmarket, but is thrilled that Richard will be taking over his original territory. He offered some parting advice to the budding businessman.

My advice for Richard is simple; stay loyal to the brand, customers and, above all, yourself and you will do well.
