Just Shutters sponsors new STEAM building
Just Shutters sponsor Talbot Heath’s brand new multi-curriculum building.
Home improvement ftanchise, Just Shutters, was invited to a special ceremony this week, as Talbot Heath school’s head teacher, Angharad Holloway, put the final golden bolt into the steel framework of the school’s exciting new STEAM Hub.
The building, which will be home to science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics (STEAM), will be a state-of-the-art space for students to learn and is set to open in the summer of 2019. It will also provide a space for local businesses to access the innovative technology facilities and a flexible training, meeting and events space to help support local skills development and economic growth. It could also become a community hub, allowing local school and community groups to visit and develop their STEAM skills.
Holloway was also elevated by a cherry picker to 60 metres so she could see the whole site. Martin Goodman, Project Manager, shared interesting facts about the project including the 202 tonnes of steel needed for the framework being put up in just 12 days and that they used 74 lorries to remove excavated materials.
Chris Rocker, Founder of Just Shutters said that the new building was an exciting addition to the school that they were thrilled to sponsor.
“Talbot Heath School's vision for the future is clear, different and very refreshing. Just Shutters was really inspired by Angharad's vision. Her ideas also made a great deal of common sense which sometimes in today's world can appear to be lacking. Just Shutters is delighted to be able to help sponsor something that will make a real difference not only now but for many years to come. What we all do now lays the solid foundations for the future and initiatives like this can only be good for all our futures.”
Just Shutters utilises over 30 years’ experience in the blinds industry, specialising in plantation shutters. Since the company was founded in 2006, it has helped over 7000 satisfied customers add the finishing touches to their homes.
