Why My Window Cleaner?

From taxis to takeaways, technology has revolutionised the way we find what we need as customers. Window cleaning is next: our systems make it simple for customers to communicate with their window cleaner, book in a clean, and make payments.

Our app also automates much of the administration required to run a business, leaving you free to focus on growth and exceptional service instead of getting bogged down with paperwork. You really can down tools and finish at the end of each day, without the need to put in extra hours on admin.

For over 20 years weve been providing window cleaning and related services that are renowned for quality and reliability. Based on that experience and our proven marketing methods that consistently bring in new customers, weve developed a proven business model for franchisees that can provide profits of £65,000+ within two years of starting up.

If youre looking for a business opportunity that allows you to start small and think big, with recurring income and strong referrals, then we look forward to hearing from you!

Training and support provided

What do I get?

Our franchise model has been developed by a former British Franchise Association board director, Ian Bradley, so as youd expect comprehensive training and ongoing support & guidance are at the heart of our approach.

Well show you how to replicate our success through a training programme that covers both the cleaning and administration parts of running your business. Ian and My Window Cleaners founders will work directly with you to ensure youre confident and well-prepared to launch and grow your business, with ongoing guidance every step of the way as you grow from a single van operation to taking on staff and more vehicles.

When it comes to marketing and growing your business, weve got it covered. Using a mixture of traditional and digital channels, we use tried and tested methods to deliver new customers consistently.

We understand everyone learns differently, which is why weve developed a dedicated online training portal that can be accessed from any device, any time you need it.

The ideal My Window Cleaner franchisee

Is it for me?

We value personality, attitude and ambition far more than a specific set of skills on a CV. Youll need to be eager to have an active role that gets you away from a desk, and hungry to build a business from a single van to multiple vehicles over time and only when youre completely comfortable with expanding.

Franchisees should have great people skills and a real passion for quality service those are the foundations on which our business is built, and yours will be too.

Youll start out by learning the business inside out, providing services yourself, and then grow over time to take on more of a managerial and business development role.

My Window Cleaner's history

Domestic cleaning to window cleaning

Karen Prewer began the story of My Window Cleaner in 1996 when she founded her business to provide domestic cleaning services. A year later, window cleaning was added to the service and due to the overwhelming demand, Karen decided to concentrate purely on domestic and commercial window cleaning: the brand was born!

More than two decades of growth and success later, Karen looked to expand beyond the companys North London/South Hertfordshire customer base.
A franchise model, to replicate the success the business has enjoyed over the long-term, was the obvious next step for Karen, who believes passionately that there is huge demand for a modern, professional window cleaning service across the UK.

National network

In 2017, highly experienced franchise professional Ian Bradley was added to the team and My Window Cleaner began our move towards a national network of local, professional window cleaning businesses.

The first franchisees have all enjoyed outstanding success in their businesses, with each one going further, faster than the previous. Were proud to say that all franchisees to date have exceeded their initial business plans and are demonstrating the power of a tech-based approach in an old-fashioned industry.

With franchisees trading in Canterbury, Bournemouth, Wales and London, with the Midlands next to open and more in the pipeline, our aim to dominate the market nationally is well underway!

Case studies

Alan Jarvis: time to shine

In August 2018 Alan Jarvis and his partner Charlotte became the first franchisees for My Window Cleaner, launching their business in Canterbury to provide a range of services to the local community. And it was considering the future for their young family that made up their minds.

Alan says: Id always wanted to have my own business and ultimately always fancied something with not just window cleaning but a full range of services, working outdoors, working for myself. The time was right for me to try something different, without putting myself at major risk. Ive got three young kids, so it was important to find the right opportunity for me and my family."

I had to make a decision on whether the My Window Cleaner opportunity and the people behind it were right for me I had to ask, do I franchise or do I go out on my own? As Ive never run my own business, it made sense to go with the franchise to learn the ropes and gain experience with a support network thats robust and efficient."

This isnt about someone showing you how to clean windows its about having the systems, guidance and support to grow a substantial business for yourself. Anyone can start up as a window cleaner but with My Window Cleaner I have a proven model to expand into a really strong multi-van business. Im ambitious and that really appealed to me.

And thats proved to be the case. After a year in business, Alan took on his first employee as his business expands to two vans. He finished year 1 averaging more than £2,000 per week turnover, up over 50% on per-job price against his business plan, and has consistently reduced his cost per new customer win.

Hes well on his way to a fantastic year 2 profit and says he has a very bright future ahead.
