The Fun Run took place over the weekend, on Sunday 28th November, and hundreds of runners dressed up as Santa Claus took to the streets of Skipton for charitable causes.
The Skipton branch of the property franchise was delighted to sponsor this run. In the words of Dacre, Son & Hartley, “The Great Skipton Santa Fun Run is a 5km charity run and walk organised by The Rotary Club of Skipton Craven. The run starts and finishes on Skipton High Street and is a precursor to the town’s Christmas lights being switched on later in the day.”
The franchise continued, “The route follows a course around Skipton, through Aireville Park and Skipton Woods. A shorter 3km wheelchair friendly route takes in a circuit of Aireville Park, which also starts and finishes on the High Street.” Charities supported this year include many of the runners’ own charities, Sue Ryder Manorlands, local Skipton charities and Rotary charities.
Mark Kane, who runs Dacre, Son & Hartley’s Skipton branch, shared his thoughts, saying, “The Great Skipton Santa Fun Run is a great spectacle and a fun event in Skipton’s annual calendar that always marks the start of the festive season, as well as raising money for lots of good causes.”
