The Women Achieving Greatness In Social Care forum, commonly referred to as WAGS, was founded to inspire, support and empower female leaders in the sector.

Blossom Home Care is thrilled to announce that its Co-Founder Fiona Leggott has joined WAGS, a forum founded by Care Talk magazine and Kent Integrated Care Alliance to support women in care and “bring real change to the sector”. Fiona, who founded her growing home care franchise with her husband, John, attended the WAGS Covent Garden launch event and expressed that it was “a great honour” to be a part of the forum.

She continued, “Being recognised as a leader in the care sector and being in on the ground floor of a movement that could transform social care is a fantastic feeling. It’s a reflection of the work we’ve been doing at Blossom to offer the sort of premium care-in-the-home that puts the client at the centre of things and lets them call the shots rather than having care ‘done’ to them. [...] I want the social care sector to up its game, so being part of WAGS and having the chance to compare notes and work with other leaders is a superb opportunity.”

The WAGS mission is simple: “The purpose of WAGS is to promote gender equity and celebrate the incredible achievements of our female workforce.” Over 85% of the social care workforce is female, with “many of these hard-working, dedicated and talented women [juggling] the challenges of family life with their career”.

Fiona was a perfect pick for WAGS as an award-winning practising RGN. She recently won the Executive Home Care Leader Award “at the prestigious Social Care Leadership Awards organised by Care Talk magazine”, given for being “a dynamic leader within a group or organisation who can demonstrate strong leadership skills to their managers and staff”. Prior to this, she was no stranger to accolades, having won two awards at the regional final of the Great British Care Awards - the Outstanding Contribution To Social Care Award and the Social Care Nurse Award.

If you’re interested in joining Fiona’s home care franchise network and standing at the forefront of an industry that’s being changed for the better, you can become a Blossom Home Care franchisee for a minimum initial investment of £35,000, with franchise fees of £37,500 and a total investment cost of £70,000. Find out more about starting your franchising journey with Blossom via the company’s profile page, which you’ll discover linked above.
