Promedica24 helped brave grandmother Rosaleen Bartlett take to the skies for a fantastic local cause.

Not many of us would consider taking on a wing walk, which involved being strapped to the wing of a plane as it flies across the sky. However, daring Rosaleen Bartlett took on the feat for charity at the ripe old age of 80. The Hassocks, West Sussex native joined her daughter Debbie and 8 brave women to raise money for two incredible local causes, Safe in Sussex and Kangaroos.

The group were sponsored by senior care franchise Promedica24, who made the daring charity stunt worthwhile by donating a whopping £400. Speaking about her experience up in the skies, Rosaleen said:

“It didn’t require courage at all – all you have to do is just stand there, floating around and looking at everything below. You are harnessed so you can wave your arms and legs. It was absolutely magical!”

Lesley Cruickshank-Robb, Regional Partner for Brighton and Mid-Sussex at Promedica24, explained why the franchise got involved and donated such a generous amount after being contacted by Debbie at a local event.

“We always aim to go the extra mile for those we care for and this was something I was very keen for us to get involved with.”

She expressed her admiration for Rosaleen’s incredible bravery.

“Most people would be scared or apprehensive but not Rosaleen, who faced the challenge head-on and was so determined to go on an adventure. We are very thrilled to have given Rosaleen the opportunity to take part in something so wonderfully inspired by such a noble cause. It was certainly an unforgettable day to everyone involved.”

The wing walkers raised an incredible £11,000 for their two chosen charities and will no doubt never forget the day they took to the skies over Essex.
