Metro Rod is looking for a buyer for its fourth franchise resale opportunity to hit the market in recent weeks.
The drainage franchise, which has become one of the UK’s leading maintenance companies, has advertised the resale of its Cardiff franchise unit. The current owner is a long-term franchisee who is now looking to take a different direction with a new venture.
The Cardiff Metro Rod territory is on sale for £150,000, and generates a revenue of over £400,000.
The business’s buyer will operate in a region offering a significant amount of commercial opportunities. Cardiff is the 11th largest city in the UK and the biggest city in Wales. It’s home to most of the country’s national cultural institutions and attracts a huge number of tourists every year. The territory has just under 440,000 households, 30,000 businesses and a population of more than a million people.
The new owner can set up their business anywhere within the region, with a small office, storage facility and parking area. They will also need to hire three drainage engineers and an office staff member, and consider buying or leasing three vans before they can get up and running. Ideally, the new franchisee should invest in a tanker within their first 12 months.
Previously, Metro Rod’s Cardiff franchise unit has generated a regular income from clients across the maintenance, rental, medical and hospitality sectors. Roughly 33 percent of its sales come from the franchise’s national accounts, while 62 percent are made through commercial clients and five percent come from domestic customers.
This unit has great potential to continue bringing in a stable and healthy income across the Cardiff area. And Metro Rod can support the new franchisee to execute a sustained marketing effort to boost sales further.
