John has been a master franchisee with the mathematics tutoring business for a year, and in that time, he’s managed to increase revenue by 109%, despite the ongoing global pandemic.

Like many other businesses, Mathnasium was hit with unexpected restrictions and set-backs during the course of the past year. Luckily, master franchisee John Preston was on hand to steady the ship and steer the tutoring franchise through choppy waters with practiced ease.

The Mathnasium@home programme had been under development in the US, but when Covid stopped the country in its tracks, John managed to bring the tools and technologies of Mathnasium@home into action across the UK network with amazing speed. Within a week, the system was being used to complete hundreds of Mathnasium online tutoring sessions every day.

Thanks to John’s efforts, the franchise was able to continue to deliver high-quality tutoring services throughout the pandemic, using a smooth virtual model of operation. Now, thanks to the online portal, Mathnasium has been able to stay in business, double its revenue and meet the needs of students across the UK, regardless of their location.

In John’s words, “Mathnasium@home, combined with our unique subscription-based tuition model, is the reason our revenue didn’t go down to zero. In fact, our year-on-year revenue more than doubled: up by 109% for the period March 2020 to February 2021.”

Mathnasium’s revenue was initially down by 30% as a result of COVID-19, but John and the Mathnasium team were able to re-focus their efforts on training, marketing and sales, examining each aspect of the franchising operation carefully, and making necessary changes. Of these changes, such as the decision to offer extra training to existing franchisees, John said, “As a result, the average income per centre is massively up, year-on-year, and Mathnasium UK as a whole is up, even without adding any new franchisees.”

As the picture clears and restrictions are slowly lifted across the UK, now might be the perfect time to make an investment in this tutoring franchise, which is helping to change the lives of children one session at a time. Find out more about Mathnasium via its profile page, linked above.
