Brett and Amy joined Green Machine in April, and the environmentally friendly commercial cleaning franchise has been delighted with their immediate success.
Brett and Amy have secured £120,000 worth of contracts within their first month. They first started talks with Green Machine in January and invested in the spring. After two weeks of intensive training, the franchisee team started their unit on the right foot, securing contracts for three commercial sites - a private dental surgery and two doctor’s surgeries. Two additional surgeries and an office space are close to signing on, too.
Along with contracts being secured, there has been a lot of interest in the Sheffield branch of the cleaning franchise in its first 28 days of trading. This interest has come from businesses of all types, with examples including a local roastologist (coffee wholesaler) and a few local primary school headteachers.
Discussing their impressive initial success and acknowledging the long road still ahead of he and Amy, Brett said, “The stress of this journey is one of those beautiful stresses because you see the immense benefit at the other end. When we have established ourselves in the region, utilised the immense levels of support and help from the franchisor and team, then we shall see the benefits of all this hard work.”
Brett’s advice to potential future franchisees with Green Machine is that they should do their research, mitigate all the risks that they can, and never look at franchising (with Green Machine or any other business) as an opportunity to get rich quick. He emphasised the importance of hard work and the essentiality of networking, and said, “YOU will only get out of this venture what you put in [...] Consistent progression is the way to succeed.”
