Branch manager Jonny Marshall and his team have beaten the company’s record for best month, with net sales of £75,000 in March.
This March, the Newcastle branch made The Wheel Specialist History and smashed previous record months. After taking in the success, Jonny and his team are determined to do it again. Discussing the record break, Jonny said,
“I’m over the moon that we finally created a new network record [...] It feels brilliant. I’d always wanted to smash that record but couldn’t even get close to it until last month.”
The Wheel Specialist Newcastle has been working hard to grow for a long time. In December 2020, the car franchise refurbished more wheels than any other branch, just under 100 ahead of its nearest rival. Unfortunately, its net sales amount was beaten by another franchise.
The loss drove Jonny to kick things up a notch, and increase product sales -
“We started checking every customer’s tyres and showing them what we found. Wheel refurbishments and tyres go hand-in-hand, but we would previously only buy in a tyre if a customer requested one.”
Right now, Jonny is the branch manager of The Wheel Specialist Newcastle. But Jonny loves the work and his team so much that he’s hoping, one day, to buy the branch from the current franchisees. He credits The Wheel Specialist Newcastle’s success to the hard work of his team of four, along with current franchisees, John and Lynda Welsh.
Jonny gave particular kudos to colleague Nicole, “My efforts would be pointless if we didn’t have any work coming through the door in the first place, and a huge amount of this is down to Nicole, on front-of-house.”
Nicole is responsible for managing the phones, and encouraging potential customers to attend the premises to receive a quotation. Jonny acknowledges that over-the-phone sales are incredibly difficult, but thanks to Nicole, a skilled salesperson trained by franchisee Lynda Welsh, the conversion rate for walk-in leads has increased massively.
