Driver Hire, recognised as a leader in transport and logistics recruitment franchising, has announced record achievements for the 2025-2026 financial year. The group’s network of offices posted a turnover of £129.1 million, representing growth of 7.8% compared to the previous year. In total, Driver Hire worked with 4,700 customers and placed over 15,000 drivers, highlighting its significant presence in the UK logistics sector.
Sustained Growth Across the Network
Chris Chidley, Chief Executive Officer of Driver Hire, emphasised the company’s robust performance:
The past 12 months have shown what an exceptional business we are,” said Chris Chidley, “70% of our offices are in growth, half of them achieved turnover in excess of £1m. Two of our offices, Aberdeen and Bury St Edmunds, passed the £4m turnover mark, the first Driver Hire franchises to achieve this.
Driver Hire’s franchise system, established over 40 years ago, continues to provide critical staffing solutions for both public and private sector organisations. Franchisees deliver temporary and permanent drivers, as well as logistics staff, ensuring customers can meet demand even during staff shortages due to illness, holidays, or peak seasons.
Keeping UK Supply Chains Moving
Despite broader economic uncertainties, the logistics sector remains fundamental to the national economy. With around 80% of goods delivered by lorry, Driver Hire’s role in sourcing and supplying mission-critical staff enables its clients to maintain smooth and timely distribution operations across the UK.
Recognition for Franchisee Achievement
The franchise’s annual conference celebrated outstanding results across its network.
Chris Chidley noted:
“Our success is broad-based with great performances from franchisees across the whole of the country. At our recent annual conference, over 30 of them collected awards for record trading.”
Expanding Additional Revenue Streams
Driver Hire’s training division contributed notably to the year’s success. The business line, which supports both franchisees and their customers with training and skills development, delivered strong growth, especially in HGV licence acquisition and other vocational subjects. Chris Chidley highlighted “A particular standout was HGV licence acquisition and other vocational skills training, ending the year 40% up.”
Looking Ahead
The group reports that the new financial year has opened positively, with the network continuing to build on recent momentum.
Chris Chidley concluded “Looking ahead, the network has made a strong start, continuing the momentum into the new financial year.”
Driver Hire’s continued success demonstrates the vital role of franchise operators in supporting the logistics sector and illustrates the potential for sustained growth and achievement within the network.
