Franchise Business Model and Expansion Strategy
The franchise operates on a master franchise system where a primary franchisee holds national rights and sub-franchises to individual operators, allowing efficient expansion in diverse markets. Gong cha’s international growth began in 2009 and has quickly accelerated through strategic openings in markets such as Korea, Japan, Australia, the USA, Mexico, and the UK. The global headquarters, established in London in 2020, drives a centralized globalisation strategy to unify operations and support further market penetration. The brand’s scalable model and strong regional market insights have fueled its rapid store growth and customer adoption worldwide.
