A U.S. Marine Veteran has brought new life to his community by opening up a Minuteman Press franchise
David Farmer has spent his life giving back to those around him. He dedicated more than 30 years to his roles as both a firefighter and paramedic and even served as a marine for 18 months in the aftermath of 9/11. However, he decided that after so many years working for others, it was now time to set up his own business, so became a Minuteman Press franchisee.
The printing and marketing franchise helped Farmer set up his own branch in Chester, Virginia, and he explained exactly why he chose Minuteman.
"I chose Minuteman Press because of the positive experiences that I have with the company. I utilised the services of the Chester store on numerous occasions and for different organisations. I was impressed with the ability of the store to assist me in creating my projects. The franchise seemed to care about each customer and worked hard to satisfy my needs."
Farmer said that he enjoys the wide range of clients his location serves, including a local paralysed veterans organisation, a preacher and many local sports teams. One of his core goals when setting up his business was to continue making a difference to his community, as he has done throughout his lengthy career.
"I developed a list of objectives that I wanted to strive for when I started this business. The first objective was to positively impact the local community [and] I work with numerous organisations to do just that.”
Farmer revealed that his journey as a business owner has been both challenging and rewarding and thanked both his hardworking staff and Minuteman Press’ franchise team for helping him overcome obstacles.
"Minuteman Press has been there for me along each step of the process. The initial training is excellent. The support and service from the field representatives is ongoing and positive. I know that assistance is a phone call away."
He concluded by offering some words of wisdom to all new business owners and franchisees.
"Find the right people for the right positions. Hire great people, protect them and foster them so that they can realise how important that they are to you and the business. This is where excellent customer service begins."
