A Transworld Business Advisors franchisee has been sharing the things he loves about running his very own franchised business.

Todd Bailey, of Wichita Kansas, has spent the last six years running his very own Transworld Business Advisors location and says that the decision to become his own boss was one he’s never looked back from.

After spending more than 15 years as an electrical engineer, Bailey began to yearn for a different career path, saying:

“I just realised I had an entrepreneurial twist and was looking for something new to do.”

He found Transworld Business Advisors and quickly achieved success helping local people buy and sell small businesses. Bailey now says that there are lots of great things about being part of the business franchise, with his favourite being that he gets to learn interesting things about businesses in every sector imaginable.

“We don’t specialise in any particular industry or market,” he said. “We feel like we specialise in packaging a business to get the best deal possible. For example, in one day I will talk to the owner of a small engine repair shop and a restaurant and home health care business and an auto repair business. There are always different markets, different products, different industries to learn about,” explained Bailey.

Bailey revealed how his team ensure that every business sale or purchase is conducted with utmost professionalism.

“We work very hard to maintain confidentiality. The biggest reason is that employees, vendors and customers can potentially sense that there is a problem or change that may not be favourable for them and they may leave. We don’t want that to happen. None of the buyers ever get to learn any details of the business without a nondisclosure agreement. We become the face of the business owner during the negotiations so we can be the bad guy or good guy or whatever we need to be.”
