The Piper pub in Chester has reopened its doors following an investment from pub and bar franchise Punch Pubs & Co after it temporarily closed in September for a revamp. Manager of Stowford Pub Company, David Cottam, remains at the helm.
Following the investment and revamp, The Piper has maintained its traditional feel, with many of the original features kept intact to retain the pub’s character and charm. However, the revamp has added new feature wallpaper, furniture, unique pub accents and a brand-new snug, which allows guests to enjoy an intimate and relaxed dining experience. The outside of the pub has also received a makeover, with new outdoor furniture and festoon lights added.
Speaking on the investment, Punch’s Senior Operations Manager, Jannine Leadbetter, said:
“This is an exciting investment by Punch in a vibrant community pub and we are extremely pleased with the new look created here. By recognising great people like David and continuing to work with them, we have together developed an even better pub for the area and local community.”
David Cottam adds:
“The pub has truly been brought back to life. We’re so excited to be welcoming guests back to see their new look and we’re thrilled to be providing wholesome freshly cooked food and great quality drinks in a relaxing and safe environment once again.”
The pub will be offering a full range of homecooked pub favourites, including a Sunday lunch. They also have a quality sports offer, kitted out with a pool table and screens showing all key sporting events. In the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, they’re also looking forward to safely reintroducing events and themed nights including quizzes, poker and live entertainment suitable for the whole family.
