TaxAssist Accountants franchisee opens a trio of stores

TaxAssist Accountants franchisee Carl Whitehead celebrates the opening of his third successful location.

A TaxAssist Accountants franchisee has celebrated the opening of his third store, showing how far he has come since he joined the franchise as a humble member of staff. Carl Whitehead now has three stores in his portfolio, which are in Long Eaton, Nottingham and Shepshed, Leicestershire.

Carl initially joined TaxAssist Accountants as a member of staff, helping its customers get to grips with their finances. However, after a number of years, Carl had proved himself to be a talented accountant, working his way up from accounts manager to a practice manager with the potential to run his own locations.

He was appointed as a director, in partnership with former franchisee Phil Marriott, back in 2011 and capitalised on the fantastic opportunity to learn everything he could about running a location of the bookkeeping and accounting franchise.

Two years ago, Carl was appointed as sole Director when Phil left the business. He then made it his mission to expand his empire and commented on what drew him to his newest location on Ashby Road in Loughborough.

“Since taking over as sole director in August 2017, with a well-established and highly experienced work force and a steady stream of new business, it was always my intention to open a third shop to compliment the two existing practices. When the ideal shop unit became available, I jumped at the chance. It is a very prominent shop with a large and eye-catching mural on the wall above our signage, so it’s difficult to miss!”

He added:

“I would like to thank the TaxAssist Accountants Support Centre in Norwich for their help and assistance in setting up the shop, which looks great.”

Carl and his team now look after more than 400 clients across the North of England, showing how far he has come from a humble account manager just eight years ago.
