Subway has teamed up with a well-known facility services provider to bring its delicious sandwiches to a local hospital.

Subway has teamed up with franchise partner ISS to open its first store in West Middlesex Hospital. The sandwich franchise has already opened more than 800 stores across the UK and Ireland with ISS, which operates branches in non-traditional locations like universities, transport hubs and healthcare centres.

This new opening shows that Subway is committed to making sure that fresh, nutritious food is available in non-traditional locations like hospitals. Its menu meets the criteria for food sold on NHS premises, as set out by the CQC. More than 10 new jobs have also been created for the local community.

Colin Hughes, Country Director for Subway UK and Ireland, commented on the exciting new opening.

We are delighted to see ISS open its second Subway store in the UK, strengthening our partnership further. ISS shares the Subway passion for serving quality, delicious food, along with a key focus on providing excellent customer service. The new store at West Middlesex Hospital allows us to widen our brand reach in hospital locations, and provides patients, visitors and staff with nutritious meal options throughout the day.

Glynn Ford, Franchise and Brand Manager at ISS, echoed Hughes comments, adding:

Subway is an ideal partner for our Healthcare business, as we know our staff and visitors are looking for a fresh and healthy option during all parts of the day. With Subways innovative menu, we can always meet our customers expectations. The West Middlesex Hospital store will be the first Fresh Forward Subway store for ISS in the world - we have great excitement within our business and look forward to opening more stores globally.
