A SportsCool franchisee has described his first few years at the franchise and plans for the future.
Sam Skidmore was working as a coach at the sports franchise’s head office when he discovered an opportunity to buy one of its nearby business units. Since 2017, he’s been managing the SportsCool branch covering Bolton and Wigan. He gave prospective investors an insight into his day-to-day activities:
“Each day is completely different and generally involves answering emails and phone calls for new and existing clients, planning, and organising new courses, looking for venues to set up clubs and, importantly, recruiting coaches to teach in our schools and community classes.
“One of my favourite parts is the relationships you can build with the coaches, schools, staff, pupils and parents. It really does end up as one big family and team!”
The hardest part? Sam remembers the challenges he faced in the first few months:
“It can be tricky to piece together the puzzle of schools and staff logistics, but if you like a challenge, this is definitely for you! Now, I have a very busy schedule and have built up SportsCool’s reputation in the Bolton and Wigan region.”
Sam has also given his thoughts on what it takes to make a great SportsCool franchisee. He said,
“If you are thinking of buying a franchise, you must be passionate about the business, educating children, be self-motivated and willing to work extremely hard to see results initially.”
With years of business expertise behind him, Sam is now looking to the future.
“My plans are to continue to grow my franchise area to enable me to have a strong and comfortable life ahead.”
