A new Snap Fitness 24/7 gym has finally been able to open to the public after its original launch day was postponed.

The team behind the brand new gym franchise business, which is located in Altira Business Park in Herne Bay, had been eagerly awaiting its grand opening back in March. But when the COVID-19 lockdown forced businesses across the UK to close, the sports facility had to postpone the big day.

At long last, on Saturday 25th July, the gym was able to welcome fitness fanatics through its doors for the first time. The business has taken all the necessary precautions to make sure everything was safe for its customers.

The branch’s Operations Manager, Sacha Marinus, said:

“The club itself is the biggest Snap in the UK, so we’ve been able to distance machines and not have to put plastic screens up between them.

“Members will need to arrive with a face mask on and sanitise their hands at the door. They’ll have a temperature check prior to entering the club. It’s just so that when people come in, they know that anyone else in the gym has also had their temperature checked and are okay.”

Every single person to enter the Snap Fitness 24/7 branch will also be asked to agree to a number of regulations. Each visitor must sanitise equipment before and after they use it.

Thanks to its size, the gym has plenty of room to keep welcoming a high number of people. At the moment, up to 90 people can book 90-minute sessions in advance of their trip. This should allow the facility to clean between classes and notify anyone who shared a group with someone who later reports coronavirus symptoms. Sacha also explained the Snap Fitness gym would close for an hour during weekdays to allow for a thorough deep-clean.

The branch is now looking forward to welcoming those who were excited for it to open:

“We’ve had a few people who have been waiting for us for a long time and been very eager to get in. We want people to come in here, feel welcome and make friends.”
