Sixt is heading to Maui, Hawaii in the next step of its ambitious US expansion.
Sixt has announced that its rapidly progressing American expansion will be taking it to the beautiful state of Hawaii next. The car rental franchise has just opened its first branch on Maui Island, a popular tourist spot for holiday makers hoping to take in the island’s beautiful scenery.
With attractions including the Road to Hana, the city of Lahaina, which is a famous whaler and plantation location, Maalaea Bay and the Spartan Reef, travellers will be able to cover much more of the island in a Sixt rental car to make sure they see everything on their getaway. Pickups are available directly from Maui Kahului Airport, meaning it’s easy to get straight on with the sightseeing.
Sixt is hoping to open additional Hawaiian branches in Honolulu and Waikiki in 2019, after recognising the need for its premium yet affordable car rental service in the state. Customers at the Maui branch will be able to choose from a wide range of easy-to-drive and attractive vehicles, with everything from convertibles to SUVs on offer from quality brands including Jeep and Mercedes-Benz.
The new Maui branch is just the latest step in Sixt’s ambitious US expansion, which has seen it grow from zero presence to the fourth-largest car rental company in the country in just seven years. With 54 branches across the country, including 20 at the most frequently visited airports, the car rental franchise has certainly established itself as a well-known name in the industry.
Sixt has also won awards for its US service, adding to the growing list of accolades the global franchise has picked up during its long history. These include the Trazee Award for the ‘Most Popular Car Rental Company Among Millennials’ and recognition from the World Travel Awards for its position as the country’s ‘Leading Car Rental Company’.
