A Signs Express franchisee in Nottingham has invested in a brand-new Epson SureColor SC-S80600 to create 1.55m-wide prints.

The sign franchise branch made the purchase back in July, after the workshop and fabrications manager Mikey Walker noticed growing demand for larger products among customers. He explained,

“Our previous Roland VersaCamm VS-540 printer could print widths up to [1.25m] but that meant there were joins in any printed panels larger than the [1.25m]. So, we looked around at other printers with a larger bed. We chose the Epson SureColor SC-S80600 after it was recommended by another Signs Express franchise.”

The Epson printer, which is priced at just under £18,000, is 1.62 metres wide, has a precision media feeding system and creates prints at 95.1 square metres per hour. These clever features have helped the Nottingham-based franchise unit boost its efficiency and productivity at a time when many other businesses are struggling.

Mikey said,

“It is a lot quicker with the double heads fitted and its multiple pass modes. Also important was the fact it had the front and back take up rollers as standard. We were impressed with the print quality and the ink usage.

“Its ease of use makes a big difference, too, and I have personally found that the cleaning modes and heating times are a lot better now. Since it was installed, we have found it to be just what we wanted in a printer. The quality is superior and the set-up to print time has improved greatly.”

Since the franchise branch was launched seven years ago, it’s scored some impressive local clients, including Nottingham Trent University and Nottinghamshire County Cricket Club. Now, the branch will be able to complete an even larger selection of jobs and continue to add to its growing customer base.
