Riverford has welcomed a franchisee who sought out a new way of life away from the hustle and bustle of the capital.
Riverford Organic Farmers has shared the story of one of its newest franchisees who has made the unusual career leap from publishing into farming.
Eleanor Fletcher spent 16 years working for a children’s publishing house in London, rising to the important role of brand management director. However, she grew tired of the pressure of her role and the manic life of the capital and sought out a new professional and personal challenge for herself.
So, when she discovered organic food franchise Riverford, she made the brave leap into the world of organic produce farming. Fletcher and her husband Tim had been customers of the franchise for years and, loving what the company does, leapt at the opportunity when a chance to team up with a vegetable producer came about to launch her own branch.
Speaking about the bold career move, Fletcher said:
“Taking on the Riverford franchise is a big career change for me. I had lived in London for 16 years but after we started a family my husband and I wanted a different way of life and a fresh challenge. I’m passionate about great food and cooking and as Riverford customers for many years, we have a true appreciation for the amazing product range. So, when the opportunity to work with the producer arose we seized it.”
Fletcher also said the decision to open her own Riverford franchise was influenced by the fantastic 2018 the company has enjoyed.
