The domestic cleaning company with franchise locations across the UK has recently honoured the milestone achievements of several Poppies franchisees.

Poppies, established in 1980, is fortunate enough to have many loyal and talented franchisees, including husband and wife team, Gill and Terry Winmill. Gill and Terry established their Poppies franchise in 2000, and they now have a workforce of 27 cleaners, helping 440 homes across Doncaster to stay sparkling clean every month.

Of her journey with the domestic cleaning franchise, Gill said, “We’re enormously proud that Poppies Doncaster is still thriving after 21 years, which is testament to the strength of the brand and the fantastic team of cleaners we employ - seven of which have been with us for over 15 years. [...] We are now back to pre-pandemic levels and flourishing once again thanks to the support and guidance that we received from head office.”

Over in Lancaster, Poppies North franchisee Andrew Wishart is celebrating an impressive 26 years in business with the franchise. His family have been part of the Poppies network for a collective 91 years, and Andrew’s franchise operation now employs 65 cleaners, with work amounting to 2,000 hours of cleaning every month. Andrew spoke about his journey and the impact of COVID-19, stating, “Last year was atypical of the growth we have seen across our territories, and it is fantastic to now see a surge in business once again. I am enormously proud of the quality service we provide to our clients and my great staff - we would not be enjoying this success without them.”

Finally, in Liverpool, Rob Piper is currently celebrating a decade with Poppies. His business now serves over 200 households and businesses in the area, employing a team of 29 local people. In Rob’s words, “Poppies has given me a level of freedom that I could never have achieved in an employed role and allowed me to have autonomy with the comfort of a proven model to follow.” Rob is also proud to have weathered the pandemic, expressing that, “After getting through [it], our 10th anniversary celebration feels even more momentous.”

Celebrating alongside these franchisees, Poppies’ Managing Director, Chris Wootton, shared his happiness and gratitude for them and their success, and said that, “We’d like to take this opportunity to congratulate our franchisees on reaching these milestones. Their achievements have been truly remarkable and we’re very proud to have played a part in their personal success stories.” To start your own story of franchise success, visit the franchise’s profile page, linked above.
