Papa John’s wins Pizza Delivery Chain of the Year 2019 at the highly respected PAPA awards

Pizza franchise Papa John’s has been awarded the title of best pizza delivery service by the Pizza, Pasta and Italian Food Association (PAPA).

The awards were held on the 14th November at the Royal Lancaster Hotel in the capital city, London.

The coveted award gave recognition to the successful work of the chain’s franchisees in helping the franchise go above and beyond typical standards in the fast food industry.

The Director of Business Development at Papa John’s UK, Justin Gilbert, is rightfully delighted with the win. He commented:

“Over the past year, the management team have made significant improvements across the business, from supporting franchisees to improving store operations, rolling out a new store image, and increasing product innovation. One of the best examples of this was our Bee Sting pizza - a fiery honey-drizzled culinary creation, which really ‘went down well’ with customers. Our new vegan pizzas have proved incredibly popular too.”

The franchise was one of the first in the UK to offer up a full vegan menu, which it’s constantly updating and keeping fresh. In collaboration with vegan cheese brand, Sheese, the franchise is really tailoring its pizzas to cater to a modern, ever-evolving audience. Its latest victory is likely down to the pizza brand’s ability the stay ahead of the curve in the latest culinary crazes.

Franchise Sales and Business Development Manager, Philip Gaffer, discussed how the franchise plans to keep its retail stores just as fresh under the management of franchisees:

“Working with our multi-unit franchisees, we have been helping them develop their portfolio of stores to gain economies of scale, reduce overheads and add more to the bottom line. One of our very successful franchisees in London runs more than 20 Papa John’s!”
