Papa Johnís introduces controversial new savoury treat
Papa Johnís is excited to announce an unusual yet delicious addition to its menu.
In an unexpected move which will undoubtedly split its customers, pizza franchise, Papa Johnís has taken inspiration from a popular Australian product made with Vegemite to create its latest savoury snack, Marmite and Cheese Scrolls.
ďWeíre excited to be the first to launch this delicious dish on our menu in the UKĒ said Liz Williams, the Managing Director of Papa Johnís, ďand given its popularity in Australia, weíre confident UK customers are going to love them too.Ē
The result of a collaboration with Marmite, these half-pizza, half-pastry bites are reminiscent of a savoury chelsea bun and are made by topping Papa Johnís classic dough base with Marmite and cheese, and rolling it up into a scroll before baking it to perfection.
Williams continued, ďThe Papa Johnís research and development team have worked Marmite(y) hard to create a dish with a winning combination of Marmite, dough and cheese Ė whatís not to love?Ē
Love it or hate it, this new menu addition will be served in batches of eight and can be ordered online or in your local Papa Johnís outlet. Introduced on January 2nd and available until Februrary 3rd, customers only have a limited time to get their hands on these yeasty treats.
Whatís more, keen Papa Johnís customers can take advantage of a month-long deal which allows consumers to purchase a large pizza with up to four toppings, a box of Marmite and cheese scrolls, one extra side and a 1.5-litre bottle of Pepsi for just £18.99.
With over 30 years of experience, Papa Johnís prides itself on its reputation of creating innovative new recipes. Starting out in Jeffersonville, Indiana, the pizza chain has steadily expanded over the years and has now established more than 350 restaurants in the UK and over 5,000 across 45 countries worldwide.
