Papa John’s is excited to announce an unusual yet delicious addition to its menu.
In an unexpected move which will undoubtedly split its customers, pizza franchise, Papa John’s has taken inspiration from a popular Australian product made with Vegemite to create its latest savoury snack, Marmite and Cheese Scrolls.
“We’re excited to be the first to launch this delicious dish on our menu in the UK” said Liz Williams, the Managing Director of Papa John’s, “and given its popularity in Australia, we’re confident UK customers are going to love them too.”
The result of a collaboration with Marmite, these half-pizza, half-pastry bites are reminiscent of a savoury chelsea bun and are made by topping Papa John’s classic dough base with Marmite and cheese, and rolling it up into a scroll before baking it to perfection.
Williams continued, “The Papa John’s research and development team have worked Marmite(y) hard to create a dish with a winning combination of Marmite, dough and cheese – what’s not to love?”
Love it or hate it, this new menu addition will be served in batches of eight and can be ordered online or in your local Papa John’s outlet. Introduced on January 2nd and available until Februrary 3rd, customers only have a limited time to get their hands on these yeasty treats.
What’s more, keen Papa John’s customers can take advantage of a month-long deal which allows consumers to purchase a large pizza with up to four toppings, a box of Marmite and cheese scrolls, one extra side and a 1.5-litre bottle of Pepsi for just £18.99.
