Oltco has partnered with the UK Pro Surf Association in an effort to clean up the UK’s coastline.
Landscaping franchise Oltco has teamed up with the UK Pro Surf Association (UKPSA) to launch a brand new initiative that will aim to make our oceans and beaches cleaner.
The ‘Clean Breaks’ initiative will see Oltco and the UKSPA team up for two years initially to remove damaging plastic waste from our shores. Innovative franchise Oltco will then turn the waste into material that can be used in its unique resin bound driveways, putting the waste to good use.
As people become more aware of the detrimental effect that plastic has on our sea life and the health of our oceans, more companies are pledging to tackle the problem in new ways. Oltco’s unique solution will take the waste from the oceans and turn it into beautiful driveways, paths and outdoor floors, using the equivalent of 150,000 recycled plastic straws in each of its 50-square-metre Recycle Bound drives.
Johnny Pearce, Oltco’s co-director, explained why the exciting, new partnership is so important.

In the UK, we throw away 8.5 billion straws every year – the devastating impact of waste plastic is becoming an increasing concern. Becoming the official environmental partner is a powerful way of raising awareness about single use plastic in Cornwall and the rest of the UK.”
