Portsmouth-based Nicholas Humpherys franchisee Ben Lacey-Birch reaps the rewards of investing in student lets.

In his first 12-months of being a Nicholas Humpherys franchisee, Ben Lacey-Birch generated £51,000 worth of revenue. This, he says, is thanks to the constant support and training that he received from the estate agency and property franchise.

After joining the Nicholas Humpherys franchise team, Ben benefitted from four weeks of prelaunch and practical training based in a fast-paced high street office. He was also given support for the first four weeks after his business was opened.

In the months that have followed since Ben took the plunge, he has had 24/7 access to a legal helpline and been assisted remotely by the franchise team two days a week. Describing the quality of support made available to him and his team by Nicholas Humpherys, Ben said: “The support I receive from the franchise team continues to be beneficial and is now mainly focused on developing and growing the business. We have received support in relation to recruitment, staff training and business development”.

For Ben, every working day is different as a franchisee. “One day I can be assisting the team with progressing tenancies and negotiating new tenancies, other days are focused on business generation and winning new business”.

To be successful in the franchise market, Ben is a strong believer in highlighting your successes and recognising your faults.
