The TaxAssist Group has bolstered its Board of Directors recruiting hugely experienced Nic Redfern as its Chief Financial Officer from 1st January 2024.

Daren Moore FCCA, Group Chief Executive Officer, said: “We were keen to develop our Group Board to provide more capacity and Nic’s expertise will be a great addition to the existing team supporting The TaxAssist Group’s next phase of growth.

“With an ambitious five-year strategic plan, which we believe will lead to an Initial Public Offering (IPO), Nic will help to ensure The Group’s plans move forward and build on its successes in a rapidly evolving landscape.”

Nic trained with Ernst & Young and then moved into industry where he has spent his career working with fast growing businesses in the financial services and digital sectors.

After four years with Virgin Money, Nic spent 12 years with Optimise Media Group growing revenues from £2m to £60m and successfully launching the business in six countries. He then moved to a fractional CFO role and worked with several high growth businesses as an executive director to devise and deliver strategy for the shareholders. This included the scaling and subsequent sale of Notice Media Ltd to Nerdwallet inc. and the post-acquisition strategy as Nerdwallet UK.

Nic said: “I am excited to be joining The TaxAssist Board, helping to expand the range of services and footprint of the network, whilst supporting existing franchisees to grow.

“The TaxAssist brand is highly successful, well-known and respected and has ambitious goals and growth plans for the future. I’m looking forward to making an impact by providing financial, strategic and commercial advice to support the Group with its aspirations for the business.”

Nic is the sixth Director of The TaxAssist Group. He joins Group Chief Executive Officer Daren Moore; Group Director & UK Managing Director, Sarah Robertson; Group Business Development Director, James Mattam; Group Chief Operating Officer and TaxAssist Accountants franchisee, Mike Melling and Non-Executive Director Phil Sullivan.
