Las Iguanas launches first-ever bespoke ‘Experiences’ on Airbnb.

Las Iguanas, the UK-based member of the Casual Dining Group, has joined forces with Airbnb to offer its users two unique ‘Experiences’ that can be booked through the platform. The much-loved restaurant franchise, which has been serving diners authentic and fresh South American dishes since 1991, recently won Best Restaurant Chain at the British Restaurant Awards.

The two experiences being offered by the chain both take the form of a monthly ‘Chef’s Table’ and a cocktail masterclass at its flagship diner at the Southbank Centre, London. The chef’s table event will be hosted by the award-winning chef, and head of Las Iguana’s head of food development, Glenn Evans.

Those who sign up to the Chef’s Table Experience will get to sample dishes from across the South American continent, learn about the particularities of the region’s cuisine and have a go at making their own dishes. The meal they will be taught to make is Pli’s Pastels, which Evans came across at a small beach restaurant in Niteroi just outside Rio de Janeiro. The dish was created by the titular Plicila Caetano and features crispy pastries filled with prawns and spiced coconut.

“I’m excited to be running a regular Chef’s Table experience so that I can personally showcase the fantastic Latin food we have on the Las Iguanas menu,” said Evans.
“We’ve found so much inspiration on our travels and I enjoy the challenge of translating our discoveries into delicious dishes that taste just as great in the UK as they did on the beach in Rio or on the banks of the Amazon in North West Brazil. Everyone is welcome at my Chef’s Table, from groups looking for a foodie experience with a twist to independent travellers.”

Las Iguanas currently has over 55 sites around the UK, with franchisees being able to tap into the brand’s close ties with friends and suppliers across South America, as well as make regular visits to ensure they remain authentic.
