American donut kings, Krispy Kreme, have launched home delivery with partners Uber Eats. The brand launched the new service earlier this week with a special promotion offering 30,000 of their donuts up for free to customers ordering through the special UberEats app - however, the the PR stunt didn’t go to plan with the service going down shortly after the launch.
Currently, the service is only offered to 22 districts in central London. However, Krispy Kreme have said on their Twitter page that they expect to start delivery outside of the capital shortly.
“We are looking to branch out our delivery in the future, so watch this space! We have an exciting dozens offer coming next week for all our stores, we’ll keep you informed.”
Home delivery services have been immensely successful in recent years with analysts suggesting that the sector is worth well over £3.5 billion.
Krispy Kreme came to the UK in late 2003 and have since expanded throughout the country with outlets in England, Wales and Scotland.
